Schools ICT will coordinate the installation of your Fibre Optic Cable through North Yorkshire County Council approved contractors. The installation work will consist of:
Site survey
Scope of work and Quote creation
Scheduling of the installation work
Completion of installation work
Confirmation of the installation work and supplier feedback
On going support
Site Survey
Schools ICT Sales will request a site survey by the contractor, giving the contractor the information gathered during your initial request. The survey date will be emailed to you via the admin@ email address, unless an alternate email address is specified.
Scope of work and Quote
The scope of work contains the entire task(s) required to complete the installation. The scope of work will contain any additional requests from you; these many have been made during the initial contact or during the site. The scope of work will require authorising before work commences on site, any work not detailed on the scope of work will not be completed.
The quote will be based on the scope of work, changes to the scope of work directly impact on the quoted price. Schools ICT would advise that all additional work should be added to the scope of work through Schools ICT sales.
Scheduling of the installation
After receiving an authorisation to work from you Schools ICT sales will arrange an installation for the first available date, unless a pre arrange installation is required, Schools ICT will endeavour to secure the required date.

Reviewing the asbestos register
Confirming the location of the Fibre Optic Cable
Completing the installation work
During the installation of the Fibre Optic Cable area will need to free of people and furniture for the duration of the installation work.

The work carried out is covered for 10 Years, this includes the cables, facia and fixings if you have any issues arising from the installation please contact Schools ICT customer services on 0845 330 2922 option 1, or via email at schoolsict@northyorks.gov.uk.

Check the asbestos register
Confirm the proposed location for the Fibre Optic Cable
Advise the site contact of the disruption
Install the fibre patch panel in to the network cabinet
Installation the fibre – Ethernet convertor in to the existing School LAN
Install the catinery wire or cable tray between the 2 points (if specified)
Install the fibre optic cable across the catinery wire or cable tray (if specified)
Terminate the fibre cable at both points
Test and demonstrate the fibre optic cable
This installation does not contain any CAT5e or CAT6 network point installation.
This scope of work should be used in conjunction with the CAT5 or CAT6 network point installation and a network cabinet installation.
